Stroke of Vessel in Egypt
Suez Canal passage is memorable every time.
I recall my crossings as a deckhand. I was the youngest on a small ship with big cranes.
Many years passed Canal was still there.
The ships became bigger. 355 meters long is a new short.
The First 400 meters vessels were cool. Launched in 2006. I sail on such in 2010.
Enormous vessels to deliver goods require quality components to function safely.
Propulsion is driven by twin-screw and double-rudders should be a must.
The training was necessary. I attended for 8th in fleet. For Company it cost money, but investment proves the worth.
Investment in the right people, training, proper salary.
Cost-cutting is hitting back hard. 5% which were cut off during building.
The mega-ship cost 140 mln.
Blockage of the Suez Canal was a long time a tic-toc timed bomb.
9.6 Billion dollars is a rough estimation. Daily 9.6 billion.
The question. If vessels built by pushing technology and installing cool already available bells and whistles. Wouldn’t life at sea be more attractive and safer for everyone and everything?
Very interesting. Thank you!
